Summary of 2016/17 for UYDC
~ We hosted the NUDL singles final in February, attracting 80 players from Universities across the North
~ 1s, 2s and Ladies once again played in NUDL this year
~ The Ladies won their first ever league match against Newcastle 2s
~ York sent 5 teams to UDUK Sheffield, the most from any University
~The 1s got to the UDUK final where they lost to Lancaster 1s
~We got support from YuFund and were able to buy 7 new darts stands
ROSES
~ A great weekend with an amazing atmosphere at the darts!
~ The Open 2s narrowly missed out on a win, with a final score 5-4 Lancaster
~ The Women's team put on a strong show but just missing out and again suffering a 5-4 defeat
~ In the final game of the evening, the York 1s won for the first time in 4 years, securing a 5-4 victory!
~ As usual, the darts at Roses pulled in a huge crowd... close to 1000 spectators!
Player's Champs and Awards Night
~ Matt Sharpe rounded off a good year, beating Harley Wilkes in the final which included a massive 161 check out
~ Annual awards night in The Lounge saw over 35 awards given out, including many joke awards which saw James Kitching crowned Lord of the Dance
Presidents Weekend
~Previous members of UYDC returned to challenge the current Uni Players. The students were successful as they retained their crown, white washing the old boys with a dominant performance
~ Jack Allsopp clinched the game, winning his last match before Graduation
It has been a great year for UYDC with lots of silverware and success!
